because 99% of the time UNC doesnt win off of miracles like duke CONTINUALLY does EVERY year. dont get me wrong they have an amazing bball program, great athletes, and are a very good team but the media sees them as jesus christ himself and everything always falls their way. when i see duke im in complete astonishment because it means the opposing teams didnt just have to go through their good team but still beat them besides the fact that they got the majority of the calls and prolly through up a couple miracles as well. the foul last night was the equivalent of ginn chestpumping hall after a td.

Since he coached at Army, I'd definitely say it's militaristic

ACC officials get susepended by superiors for actions in FSU-Duke game.
Well, now they only owe Boston College a formal apology as well.

I don't have anything against them. They're always fun to watch.

I can't find myself hating them. I know the media seems to have a love affair with the program. But I really don't care if CBS, ESPN, Dickie V. want to openly cheer them on. I just turn the volume down or switch channels. That doesn't shape my opinion one way or the other about Duke. They win year in and out in the toughest conference. Their kids play hard and are well spoken. Coach K is a competitor and I see a little of him in Thad. The student fan base down there is into every game. Rather than hate, maybe we should look to emulate some of what they do.

1) National sports announcers should never openly cheer a team on.
2) You state how they always win....after an article about them getting a bull[censored] call. Connection?
3) Their kids are very well spoken. I liked when Reddick spoke the words "Get the [censored] out of my face" at the BC player.
4) The students are neurotic and annoying. Ever been around a Dook fan? Of course you have because they have bandwagoners all over. What I mean is, ever been around a student that actually goes to the games? They make Penn State fans seem intelligent.

BN, you are passionate in your hate of Duke, I admire that.
I agree on the call the other day. I was speaking more of my overall impression of the program and not one incident though. Let's not get into profanity though because that happens at every major D1 program including OSU. Just happened to get caught on tape. I have not been around a lot of Duke fans to be honest. I didn't think they had a huge national following like ND or UM in FB or UNC in hoops. I could not stand UNC hoops fans when I was growing up because of the bandwagon nature of their remote fans and the lovefest for a coach like Dean Smith that did so little with so much talent. I find those fans to be a little more annoying to be candid than the few Duke fans I've met. Now, that could be because I do not live in NC. Agree on the PSU fans. There are thousands of them here and they are the most arrogant self serving group that I have been around. Being from Sayre you can relate to that I am sure. Most PSU fans look at OSU football in the same way we OSU fans view Cinci hoops.
