I've always rooted for basketball teams in this order:
1. Duke
2. Dayton
3. tOSU
My family wasn't as into college basketball as they are football, so I wasn't baptized with tOSU Basketball doctrine like I was tOSU football. I always love seeing the Bucks do well in any sport though...

DID ANY OF YOU GUYS SUPPORTING DUKE ACTUALLY WATCH THE FSU VS. DUKE GAME?????
It was awful.......you can't reward aggressive play at one end end of the court and not reward it on the other side.....the refs need to be consistent, and they hardly ever are when it comes to duke.
Jay Bilas dug his own grave the other night on tv, and he didn't even realize how stupid he made himself sound. His quote, "if you want the fouls to even out against duke you need to attack the paint." Well Jay 90% of FSU's shots came within the 3 point arc and the stats from the game breakdown like this:
Combined in the last two games, Duke has attempted 80 free throws to FSU/Boston College's 24. 80-24! You'd think Duke plays a passive 2-3 zone and teams just launch three-pointer after three-pointer against 'em, right?
Look at the FSU game this way:
Rebounds: FSU 49, Duke 36
Offensive rebounds: FSU 21, Duke 13
Points in the paint: FSU 64, Duke 26
Three-point attempts: Duke 22, FSU 10
Free throw attempts: Duke 43, FSU 11
Al Thornton field goal attempts: 32
Al Thornton three-point attempts: 1
Al Thornton free throw attempts: 3
J.J. Redick field goal attempts: 25
J.J. Redick three-point attempts: 10
J.J. Redick free throw attempts: 10
Shelden Williams field goal attempts: 14
Shelden Williams three-point attempts: 0
Shelden Williams free throw attempts: 16
At least when it came to defending Thornton the other day, Duke's defenders couldn't play dead in a cowboy movie. And nearly every time Thornton took a shot around the basket, there was *some* contact. Maybe not enough to merit a foul on every shot, but certainly the equivalent of what Redick and Williams faced on the other end of the floor. Either you reward aggressive play on both ends of the floor or you don't. But you can't do it on one end and not the other.
If you watched the game, youd see just how "biased" the officiating is. And I'm not one of those ACC conspiracy theorists, but coach K has these officials under his thumb, and these officials are reluctant to call fouls on duke on the defensive end, but they get all the ticky tack stuff when on offense....its embarrassing to watch....ive never seen a team given so much "respect" from officials...name another team that gets as many flops called a charge...i hate their program just for bringing that defensive play into the main stream...i think bobby hurley was doing it with regularity before vlade divac learned it
anyways, its unfortunate a message was sent to the officials after the FSU game because that game could have put them in great position for the dance....FSU deserved to win...43-11 in freethrows, awful!

I was born a few miles from Chapel Hill, I was baptized to be a Tarheel fan, just like I was baptized to be a Buckeye fan(my parents are from NE Ohio)
