Fun game, but talk about alley-ball.

OSU has remarkable athleticism, but lots of problems with the pressure in the first half and tons of silly mistakes. Nothing that time and coaching wont cure.

Nice to see the new walk ons and nice to see Ivan the Terrible get it in gear - hope it lasts.

Lot's of running tonight. Loyola could well get the W tomorrow.

And did the students get the place rocking or what?

I think I'll go with "or what".

No more excuses. Support your team or don't. This is an embarrasement and an affront to true fans. Don't know how it showed up on tv, but I will take a picture at the start of the next game before folks from higher up start filtering down. It is ludicrous to see entire sections completely empty.

If there is anything that needs to be "one and done" this season it is the new student seating. Shame.

Overall it was a tale of some up and down basketball.

We started off strong hitting our shots, rebounding, and playing good D. Then we went South when Butler went to the bench and the young guys turned the ball over some and VMI made some shots.

Overall VMI was not a bad team, I saw where they have been averaging 135/ game and I believe it. They jack up shots like crazy. It is kind of fun to watch actually.

Overall Cook played awesome tonite. His dunks, his ability to get to hole and his long range shooting.

Conley also had an awesome game. He had 7 assists in the first half. Not sure how many he ended up with. I also saw him use his right hand around the basket on a layup. That ones for you JO. He is so smooth out there and can break a press with ease, but at times needs to be a little stronger with the ball.

Butler had a nice shooting nite and he is really going to have a good year if he can get those open shots like he got tonite. It is also nice to have him and Conley on the court together to be able to break the press and run the break.

Lewis, Twig, and Harris what you have seen is what you got. I wish that Harris would step in a couple times and take a 15 footer instead of those 3 balls b/c he is really struggling from out there. He did play solid aroudn the hoop at times tonite.

Hunter had another solid game with some good blocks and some nice finishes around the rim. I wouldnt be suprised to see him getting a majority of the minutes at the 5. Twig has really struggled so far.

Lighty he struggled keeping ahold of the ball at times tonite, but overall another solid effort from him. His stroke has really impressed me. I hope that he continues to hit those shots. I think a lot of it has to do with his awesome shot selection that he has.

As for the walk-ons, yes they are the student managers.

I was not able to see the Loyola game, but should be somewhat of a test for us. If we don't play at a high level they might give us all we can handle.

Man you are respectful poster, and I really like what you bring, but when is enough enough about this situation.

I do not believe the students were offered this game at a discount price. I also know that there was no emails sent to students about this tourney. If the students wanted to go they would have to pay the public price of $28. That is alot of money for a student to fork up for one game, especially if they have already bought the student package. Also if they wanted to attend all the games in the weekend that would be $87.

The students went form 1700 tickets sold last year to 6300 this year. Trust me when the games come that were in the packages the students will be there and out in full force.

Overall there was a pretty nice crowd there tonite.

It probably belongs in the lap of the ticket office for setting things up this way anyhow, but it looks real bad. You saw it.

That said, I'll back off. But I will post the picture.

I also meant to comment on Hunter. He was almost an afterthought in this class. Then there were rumors we might not have him. I don't know where we would be without him this season. Ivan lit it up late, but in the first half when he and Twigs were on the court it was not the same team. Hunter had 13 boards and 6 were offensive (in 24 minutes). Although tonight was anything but traditional box-out rebounding.

As you saw they didnt sell the end seats on either side. There were students that were scattered out through the crowd. I think those end seats were sold to the other teams crowds. Obviously there werent many of them there, but that was the situation for the Walsh game the other day and they filled the section.

Estrada could go either way
Off topic, but does anyone know if the students can pick up the season tickets? I thought we would get an email about it but maybe not? Thanks.

Thanks for picking up the slack fella's. I am glad they turned it on in the second half. I also agree that by Sunday these boys will be ready to soak.

The young guys are as advertised and this is going to be a magical season.
