Can this team be Foster?s first to reach Final Four?

It?s not hard to believe it?s the best start in Ohio State women?s basketball history. At the risk of stating the obvious, 18-1 is about as impressive as it gets. But these recordsetters have had some close calls against teams they probably should have manhandled ? last night they led Indiana by five with less than a minute left ? which makes you wonder whether they will finish the season as the school?s best team.

That actually ended up being a foul on the Indiana player, if it's the play I'm thinking of.

Boilers, Buckeyes in Big Ten showdown
When the Big Ten Conference released its women's basketball schedule, Jan. 29 was circled as the key date in the league race.
It's finally here. Ohio State vs. Purdue. The last two unbeatens in league play square off at Mackey Arena.
Although half the regular season schedule remains, the championship will likely be determined tonight. Here's one more thing: It's the only regular season meeting between the schools.
"You get one shot at it," Purdue junior Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton said. "It's a big game for us, and we know that."

Buckeyes brace for Boilers? caldron
Big Ten leaders set for lone showdown in regular season

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
The sound figures to match the fury tonight in Mackey Arena when the Ohio State and Purdue women?s basketball teams meet for the only time during the Big Ten regular season.
The Buckeyes (18-1, 7-0) and Boilermakers (19-3, 8-0) are the final unbeaten teams in conference play. The showdown is as rich as Alan Ladd facing off with Jack Palance in the climax of Shane. Good guys and bad guys, of course, always are a matter of perspective and rooting interests.

Espin 2 tonight at 7:00 I believe. Real big game for the ladies. Mackey arena is a tough place to play. Every time I watch a game from there I think of Rick Mount, Joe Berry Carrol, and Gene Keady. Lot's of history there. Let's go Ladies.
