Minneapolis- Leslie Knight scored a career-high 33 points to lift Minnesota's women's basketball team past 15th-ranked Ohio State, 79-70, on Thursday night, stopping the Big Ten leader's winning streak at six.
Emily Fox added 16 points and led an aggressive effort by the Gophers (14-6, 5-3) on both ends of the court that brought them within one game of first place in the crowded conference race.
The Buckeyes (15-4, 6-2) roared back to tie the game at 50 with a 16-2 charge midway through the second half following Fox's fast-break, spin-dribble layup stretched the lead to 48-34. Ashlee Trebilcock scored 25 points, and Jantel Lavender (Cleveland Central Catholic) added 21 points for Ohio State.
