Not cbf40 but the two girls from Illinois there were recruited last year are rated higher than Amber Stokes. Stokes is athletic but she is not a pure shooter.

I really think your answer is already here, just needed more seasoning...I really like Britany Johnson and Alison Jackson, and along with them two Stokes will add athleticism...They can both score as well especially Johnson, she scored over 4000 pts in high school...

Stokes isn't a great shooter, but like I said will add athleticism and the ability to score the ball...This year we didn't have anyone other than packer that could score from the outside...

We really need Tribilcock to find her shot and along with Jackson and Johnson we should have a better shooting team with more athleticism...

And don't forget about Prahalis...She is a very good shooter and can score and play PG...

We will also have size on the wing as Stokes, Jackson, and Johnson are all 5'11''...

Not sure if anyone watched the Girls Mcdonalds AA game tonight and only watched about half the first half...

But what I saw was Prahalis and, she is very very good...IMO we have the freshmen of the big ten in her...She makes behind the back passes, very good bounce passes, and has a great jumper, and one little pull up J she hit, hit nothing but the bottom of the net, with great touch...

Also she told the commentators that asked her the question about playing up tempo as we are a uptempo team and supposedly we are going to try and run more next year...So maybe Foster is going to change his style a little...With Prahalis, Jackson, Johnson, Moeller, Little we are very athletic on the wing and Lavendar can run the floor...

Also talked to someone about Amber Stokes and I was told that her stroke is much improved and she will be a very solid player here...This from someone that would know what they are talking about...

Jim Foster did what losing coaches always do in the week that followed the first-round ouster of the Ohio State women's basketball team from the NCAA Tournament.
He replayed the 60-49 defeat to Florida State over and over in his head while the same thoughts swirled like buoys caught in an eddy.
"What could you have done differently?" Foster said. "What could you have done better? I think you start with yourself before you start on anything else. And I'm in the process of that."
One matter he doesn't dispute: The performance by the sixth-seeded Buckeyes against the 11th-seeded Seminoles "wasn't good." A fifth-place team in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Florida State roared to a 20-point lead partly because a core of quicker players expected to beat anyone from the Big Ten.

I liek the idea that they are going to try and play more uptempo...I think Foster let the idea of him continuing to win games fall into a law of thinking that there was no reason for this, but the losses in the tourney bothered him to the fact of switching things up...Really think we will see a more athletic team next year...

Well, considering he made some up-tempo promises to Sammy P in an effort to get her commit to OSU I would say he does intend to see a faster pace.

But I wonder if he has the proper people for it. It is one thing to say you will run, but if you haven't been recruiting with the philosophy in mind - save a freshman pg - then how well will it work? I also question his willingness to recruit a player more oriented to run but we shall see how that manifests going forward.

The other thing I noted was a quotation of Foster's in the article:
"The whole Big Ten has to ask itself some questions," Foster said. "Where are we? Where do we want to be? Where do we need to be? We've started in another direction, and it's a necessity."

Someone posted about Foster's lack of success at OSU in the NCAA's but noted his success at Vandy in the NCAA's. The Big 10 is horrid. Think about it, it is much easier to be able to play up tempo and play different styles in the tournament when you have to go up against an up tempo Tennessee at least 2x a year not to mention LSU. A lot of the SEC is nothing to write about but playing those elite teams really helps a team come tournament time. The Big 10 does not have an elite team to go against year in and year out and save Whalen's Minnesota team and the Purdue team a couple of something like 5 years ago all Foster does is go up against subpar, nonathletic, grinding Big 10 teams.

Think about OSU's other sports and that it must play that elite competition to get better or stay at an elite level if already there:
Soccer - Indiana
Wrestling - Iowa and half the big 10
Football - Michigan despite its current position
T&F - Wisconsin and Michigan

I agree with all you said...I think that the girls from Illinois, along with Lavendar can run...also Moeller and Little are pretty athletic...

I know we have scheduled a couple stronger games non conference the past couple years, but maybe that is where we need to pick up the scheduling and that will get us more ready for the big ten and then the tourney...
