Donovan, Noah Downplay Incident at Vandy
By MARK LONG
AP Sports Writer
GAINESVILLE, Fla. ? Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan and star forward Joakim Noah downplayed incidents that happened in a 83-70 loss at Vanderbilt.
Donovan said Monday he had no problem with what transpired between Noah and Commodores coach Kevin Stallings two days earlier. Stallings grabbed the basketball near his bench under the basket and refused to give it to Noah for an inbound pass. Noah reached for it again, and Stalling swatted his hand away.

Donavan and Noah are smart to just try to put it in the past, though.

I just respect coaches a lot more than players today do. You don't walk on a basketball court, you don't talk to the refs without saying sir, and you don't grab a ball out of the hands of a coach.
You could just see it in the way Noah reacted that he thinks he's better than everybody else in that gym.

I did like the look of disbelief on his face after they lost. I hope to see it again next month.

Agreed. Part of is how Noah went about it, and he really thinks he is God's gift to basketball. The coach was wrong, but it escalated when Noah staretd acting like that.
