Matta sold a combo-guard system to Crater & his family/coach. He verballed during the season after Matta backed up his pitch by starting Butler & Conley together.

Back then, no one knew Conley would be lone gone (if he returns, it won't be for 2 more) by the time Crater arrived. Most thought Conley was a 3-4 year player.

The issue might be class separation. Even if Conley stayed all four, Crater would still have 2 years to be the veteran PG. Now if Lucas came on board for 4 years, Crater would be left with only 1 year to do so.

what is that? lucas signing? i would think that crater was already prepared to play with conley for at least one season. though crater might not have assumed that conley would leave before his junior season (crater's first), he was likely not expecting it. i think that this would affect crater only if he feels that the year's difference between conley and lucas is too great. in fact, i would think that lucas's signing would affect offutt more than it would affect crater. mind you, i'm not claiming that offutt would re-open his recruitment.

Bringing in an additional PG to go along with Crater will not be an issue....Crater is sold on two PGs playing at the same time......not an issue.

Very good to hear. Here's to hoping if MC Jr leaves we can swing Lucas then, that would be awesome.
