I think PJ is getting with the program in a big way on both sides of the ball. While I do think that he expends to much energy in his movement and could try to save his energy and stamina some I think he is learning just how to do that and play well within the rythym of the game.

The lowdown on P.J.'s duds
You had an inkling P.J. Hill was a different dude when we first got a look at his dreadlocks. He added another touch of style recently with a pair calf-high socks with two red stripes on top. Straight out of the ?60s.
?I like those socks,? he said. ?That?s a little ?old school? in me.?
Hill said he bought a pack of them at Journeys, a shoe and apparel store in Polaris Fashion Place mall. ?Got all different colors,? he said.
That isn?t Hill?s only departure from the established Buckeye fashion norm. A reader e-mailed us last week wanting to know why, when the team comes on the court a second time during pregame warmups, Hill is the only one still wearing a white warmup jacket. The rest of his teammates have switched to pullovers of a different color.
?Let me tell you why,? Hill said.
?They gave me a shirt that?s too long and so I can?t shoot because the (sleeve) goes over my hand. The white coat is the only thing that fits me, so I have to wear that. The other stuff?s too big.?
He said he?s taken to wearing the coat for another reason.
?It keeps me warm.?

As the saying goess: 2 steps forward and one step back. Matta has been trying to get the bench more minutes but they just don't produce. Hill was out of control on 3-4 possessions in a row in the 2nd half, taking it into the trees with no place to go. His dreads and head are going all over the place but it doesn't seem like he goes anywhere. If the offense isn't going through Butler, there isn't any movement, no flow, no continuity. I know the young guys are only freshmen and they are learning on the fly but it's painful to watch the last 10 minutes of a Buckeye game when Thad pulls the starters with a 12 point lead and has to put them in 2 minutes later b/c it's down to 6. That game had no business being close tonight. This team is missing the killer instinct and they better find it in the next few games b/c it doesn't get any easier with 8 more games w/ Mich St., IU, Wiscy, Purdue and Minnesota. I thought they would be a lock for the tourney a few weeks ago w/ their strength of schedule alone, but if you can't beat a top 25 team, you don't deserve to be one of the 65 invited. Their still missing that staple victory.

I thought that PJ really stepped up last night when Butler went down with his injury...
I am sure Matta felt a little uneasy about having to go with Hill, but he didn't turn the ball over, got us into our offense, played good defense, and had the nice little drive to the hoop to score...
If PJ puts in the work over the summer he is going to be a good combo to Crater for the team next year...

I think he could be a good role player. I've heard opinions that he
doesn't have much offense in his game, but of the few shots I've seen him take this year, they haven't been bad. His shot looks decent; he just hasn't looked for it. He'll have a much different role next year and hopefully he'll step into it. I don't think he'll be amazing, but you always need role players that can come in and spark the D and not turn the ball over!
I like this kid. And he has cool hair!
