Last night the Illini let the Dook defense get to them...
Today against Okie St. not so much...
Illinois is going to be a solid team in the big ten this season...

Illinois is solid. But you have to recognize that Oklahoma State is a sub-standard, undisciplined team. They really don't have anyone who was established as any good prior to the season. They play a few freshmen and a couple JUCO's. Marquette did practically whatever they wanted on road to scoring 91 points, in a 30 point beating. Also gave up 82 in a loss to North Texas. I was thoroughly unimpressed when I saw the Cowboys. Illinois still isn't remotely threatening on the offensive end. They're going to have to beat you with their defense, IMO.

I am with you on all points, but Illinois is better than I expected...They are young and will only continue to get better, they have some length on the wing, and while Frazier is not a scorer that much he is a solid game manager at the point...And like you said they are a very good defense team...Their SG made the Maui all-tourney team...
I envision them being a tourney team as well...

If you are awake PLEASE tune into the scUM game on ESPN2 and check out the guy 2 rows behind the bench rocking the OSU football jersey! He's right behind scUM's coach.

Maybe I'm just unfairly comparing them to Illinois teams in the past, led by Deron Williams for example; and also the top 4 in the Big Ten. They're a nice little engine that can.
