St. John Arena
Does anyone know where I can get a clear picture or drawing of the old SJA center court logo? I watched the game tonight and was disappointed not to see it, but I was hoping someone knew where I could find a picture of it on the web (I searched and couldn't find it). To be clear, I'm looking for the one with the red state of Ohio with the block O in the middle.
Thanks in advance!

I admit, this is unresponsive... However, it came up on a google image search of St John Arena basketball

Jeff Rapp discusses the atmosphere at St. John compared to the Schott and how the program should reconnect with the old arena.

I had posted this in another thread just yesterday and since it it somewhat connected I will redo it here.
Quote:
One thing I have noticed in these games is the distance of the court from the stands and the fans.
I think this is the difference along with many others that it is the big difference between St.Johns and the Schott.
So now the ncaa wants to increase the minimum number of seats again which will effectively cut out all final four games for any arena that isn't a domed arena. This will put the fans even further away from the action.
Jokes are flung about that the players won't be able to hear the fans and that the fans will all need binoculars.
Sounds like a very bad idea to me all in the name of money.

I like to be up close. It is far better than not being able to follow the play closely. How they can tie that into the Schott I don't know.

For some reason, I think that someone must have slipped up when they designed the Schott. It reminded me very much of the old Coliseum where the Cavaliers used to play. It was designed as a basketball/hockey arena and when a basketball game was played there the fans were pretty far away from the action. I think this is one of the major problems of the Schott because it was designed for both sports also. However, there are many other multipurpose arenas around the country where the basketball seating is not so far away as it is at the Schott.
