When evaluating the veracity of these accusations, please keep in mind that credible media outlets were approached in the past to publicize these false allegations and declined to do so. Sadly, we live in an allegation-based society and an internet age where in a matter of minutes one's life long reputation can be severely damaged. I am confident that, as in the past, a review of these allegations will be discredited and restore my reputation. I hope the latest review of these allegations will be conducted expeditiously.


Finally, I appreciate the Chancellor's statement that I should be accorded a fair opportunity to defend myself against these accusations. I fully intend to do so. There should never be a rush to judgment when someone's personal integrity and career are on the line."

Bernie Fine's inquiry to take weeks

Syracuse police are resisting attempts from Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick's office to obtain records in the investigation of Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine.

ESPN reported last week the claims of two former ball boys that they were molested for years by Fine.

Fitzpatrick said he had to get a court subpoena Monday ordering police to turn over records. But he said that when the subpoena was served to the deputy chief, it was greeted with an obscenity.

"I've never seen this happen in my history with the DA's office," said Fitzpatrick, told the Syracuse Post-Standard of the refusal to share records.

Interesting tape of his wife discussing the alleged abuse with the ballboy who was abused. As interesting a question is why ESPN sat on this tape doing nothing since 2003. ESPN must have been too busy suing schools for tattoo related matters to be concerned with child sex abuse.

Wonder how much Boeheim regrets his strong comments supporting Fine and calling the accuser a liar a few days ago?

An interesting tidbit that came out is that the kid (Davis) lived with Fine and his wife for a while, and the wife seemingly knew that her husband was attracted to guys, and at least in 2002 (when the tape was made) knew that Fine had abused Davis when he was a kid.

And Davis also says that he slept with Mrs. Fine when he was 18, and then told the husband about it a few years after that, and Fine didn't get very [censored]ed off at all. The wife's comments make it sound like he wasn't sexually interested in her for a long time, at one point she says that for her husband, "it's all about the dick".

But why did Davis let ESPN hear the tape in 2003, and then sit on it for 8 years?

A third accuser came forth (the second was a step-brother of Davis), and that allowed the 7-hour search of Fine's house 2 days ago. The 2 step-brothers couldn't cause charges to be files due to the statute of limitations having expired in NY state.

One point that will come up - Davis taped that phone conversation in 2002, when he was in Utah and Mrs. Fine was in New York. Both of those states had laws at that time that allowed somebody to tape a conversation without letting the other person know about it, so the taping was legal. Whether it will ever be admissible is another story.

Since Boeheim gave his unconditional support to Fine and questioned the victims' motives, the question is begged as to whether he should be shown the exit if Fine is convicted. This case isn't even close to being analogous with the cover up at Penn State, but Boeheim's premature words were beyond stupid. It's going to be tough for him to distance himself from this thing.

he also said if something else comes out, he has the right to re-evaluate. as long as he didn't know, he's fine.

I would agree if his comments had not been accusator I think he hung himself unnecessarily.
