Matta with the number 1 player 2 out of 3 years...That is pretty good...
I know some are not quite as high on Mullens, but when he gets here and puts forth 100% effort all the time I think their opinions will change...

All B.J. needs is direction and the right amount of dedication.....from all accounts he is a hard worker......some have questioned his defense......I have no problem with his defense and with Matta.....I know he will play solid defense.....

I sure hope he does prove he deserves the raking. I wish the best for the kid, but I don't think he is a dominant big man from what I saw in the tv games they showed of him this year. I feel he is very talented and skillful. Pretty sure I'll be proven wrong though. If he stays two years I think we can pull out a final four or better. If Koufus was to comeback, maybe do it this year. In Matta I trust.

All-USA boys hoops team: Garden State blooms - USATODAY.com
1st usa today hs aa
Quote:
B.J. MULLENS, 7-1 center, Canal Winchester (Ohio)
College choice: Ohio State.
Just the facts: Averaged 27.4 points, 15.1 rebounds and 3.1 blocked shots a game. Shot 71.2% from the field. Broke his school record with 62 points against Our Savior New American (Centereach, N.Y.).
Favorite actor: Will Ferrell.
My first dunk: "I was in the seventh grade in an AAU tournament ... came down on a fast break and threw it down with one hand."
My playground legends: "Michael Redd, Gary Trent and Lawrence Funderburke."
Best book I've read this year: "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. It was just something that someone advised me to read."
Favorite NBA player: "Amare Stoudemire. He gets it down. He's a monster. He's so quick and gets off his feet real quickly."
Favorite teacher: "Curtis Robinson in math and Matt Moss in history. (Moss) is also an assistant coach. In both cases, I know the teacher outside of class."
I need to work on: "Training and conditioning. The summer of my junior year, when I got to play against Greg Oden, showed me how different it would be in college."
B.J. stands for: "Byron James."

well at least he will be playin with the team from the start of the season, instead of having to sit out all of the non conference games with an injury...he may just as big as an impact as oden...considering he might play a dozen more games than oden...
its not about whos better...oden or mullens...
its about being better than the competition
