Season finale

I was fortunate enough to be at Sunday's game. The energy in the building was impressive, to say the least - I was shocked. With time dwindling away and dealing with a double digit deficit, the crowd never gave up. The final play notwithstanding, they played a fantastic game, and a few players (most notable the Dialses and Harris) showed real promise. Can't say enough about TDials' play - he single-handedly made it a game. As for the game-ending non-call on Augustine...well, there's nothing to say, really. Horrible non-call. Looking forward to next season and to seeing TDials become one of the top big men in the conference.

I agree. I would have had to call a foul on the last play. Considering Ed Hightower was on the crew though, I can understand why none was called. Not only is he a Buckeye hater, he's just a terrible offical. I think a forced retirement is in order.

It was an unfortunate no-call at that point. The Bucks did a wonderful job getting back in the game and not getting that call really bites. They get another shot at redemption against the Illini if they can beat Indiana in the tournament opener.

I think the last few weeks gives some hope for the future of what this team can be with the new players coming in. I agree with Clark that OSU needs some speed at the PG position and hopefully that is what they get with Butler.

I was yelling at my TV "how is that no call!"

Over and over. I wanted that game, that would have made our season. Maybe we can get them in the 2nd round of the tourney. We probably need to make the championship to get in the NIT let alone NCAA

With about 10 minutes left in the game I was mentally drafting a post about how pathetic the crowd was. Up until that point the Illinois contingent - and there were more of them than any visiting team I can recall at an OSU BBall game - owned that place. They were chanting 'We can't hear you', 'Sell more tickets', and a lot of other stuff that I have never had to listen to. The 0-7 deficit didn't help, but it wasn't until less than 10 minutes left in the game that the OSU crowd even showed up. But when they did - Wow.

Ironically, if Illinois had lost that game you could have argued it was because of their crowd. I sincerely feel that much of the noise the hometown folks were making was a response to what they had been listening to the first three quarters of the game. Those last two minutes it definitely had an effect on the play.

On another note - where the heck has Ivan Harris been? It was really when he came in that Dials went crazy and part of the reason was that he provided an offensive threat that Illinois had to react to by moving their big men out rather than packing them inside.

I thought we ended the season as an improving team and we have some positives to build on. NCAA tourney next year baby !
