Buckeye Sticker Speech about The Game
For my commuications class when asked to pick a topic for an informative speech i decided to do it on The Game, i have a great deal of information both from sites and books and personal experience but does anyone have any ideas for me? im still tryin to figure out a really good catching opener to use...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. please post thanx... The only bad part about the speech is i must be unbiased

ok im not gonna lie im prolly not gonna end up bein all that unbiased as i should because im not really sure i can but i dont think my teacher will take off that much for it and hell she better not cuz were from OHIO....but still lookin for a really good opener if anyones got any ideas....may use one discussing the blood drive battle and kind of have the audience picture the scene as i describe it then tell them what it is and then lead into The Game from there....but any ideas for anywhere in the speech would be greatly appreciated i cant wait to give this speech i think it is goin to be awesome and much better than the normal boring topics

Do research into the greatest rivalries in sports. There are tons of unbiased articles out there to base your speech off of. And tons of statistics to support how it rarely gets dominated by one team, how the underdog often wins, and how it has had the most effect on each teams big10 championships, national championship runs and rose bowl appearances.

If you want something CATCH-y, don't mention Braylon Edwards...

I've found that "M*ch*g*n sucks" is a pretty strong opener for a speech on any subject. "[censored] M*ch*g*n" is an equally strong closer.

There is a great dvd out (I got mine from meijer in Cincy) called "The Rivalry". Has a lot of facts, interviews, and highlights of the rivalry. It could be of some use to you.

One of my favorite parts of the dvd was actually from Bo. He described the game as " A clean, kick ass" game.

I think it is important to mention WHY it is relevant to everyone.

Explain how many of the players could of gone to either school. On the contrary, explain how many were brought up to hate on or the other. It will be tough to show the Michigan side of this as their whole team is from NE Ohio and Pennsylvania. Use my parents as an evxample.....I was born the day before the OSU -Michigan game. My mom was supposed to take me home the day of the game. My dad asked the doctors to keep her in one more night so he and his friends could go to the game in Ann Arbor....and I was the first born!
