I wonder if Haynes will target the DBs who are 6'0 and up the way Tucker did...

A big plus about hiring Haynes, IMO, is that along with his other credentials, he is also familiar with the Big Ten. I think that this can only help in preparation and scheme. Good hire.

Best part of this is that this guy is generally stoked to be a Buckeye. Welcome Coach and best of luck.

Walton would have been a great hire also, but Haynes may have been #1 in Tressel's evaluation. We'll really never know what order JT had them in.

This is hardly a lateral move. Yes, the title remains the same but he is getting to move back to his hometown, and MSU is hardly the marquee name that tOSU is.

you know you spend waaaay to much of your time posting on message boards and not in the real world when you read this and the first thing that comes to your mind is hawaiianbuckeye. you then have to stop and think to yourself, "he can't coach the dbs can he..?"
i can use the fact that its monday as an excuse right? coach hayne sounds like a great addition to the team. he's walking into the least set in stone group on d. but the rock solidness of the rest of the d should provide him with ample padding to get his guys up to speed and on the same page.
welcome coach

Holy Buckeye said it- He is STOKED to come home, coach with JT and not against him anymore and be a part of his dream!!
His playing history is indicative of someone who was highly motivated. This will carry over...he also looks like a tough fella...
