That is correct. Additionally, according to Person's dad, he is not and has not been a back-up at center. Worst case scenario they do have Andrew Moses, walk-on from Watterson, who is a bit undersized at the moment. OTOH, the kid looked pretty good to me in both the N/S and Big 33 games. As another poster noted, more likely Winner gets moved if Mangold and Datish are unavailable.

As to Cordle's injury, he is quoted as saying he "heard a pop" in his foot. If he tore a ligament or tendon in his foot, they may indeed decide to RS him so that it doesn't become a chronic condition.

He spent the practice time with Butch Reynolds on the track according to one of the local TV stations

And I wouldn't worry about Cordle yet, it could be anything...the coaching staff is always going to be cautious in preseason

According to todays Dispatch (on Cordle):

"Freshman offensive lineman Jim Cordle of Lancaster was on crutches with a walking boot on his right foot yesterday. He said he felt something pop in his foot on Friday, but does not know the extent of the injury."

I feel like an idiot for asking this but what exactly does "LS" mean?

Edit: Nm, long snapper...

Do you think Cordle's injury will turn into a redshirt for him? I know he played in the spring, but missing fall camp is tough to overcome.

SteveHelwagen (Aug 25, 2005 1:25:16 PM)
I agree, missing camp is a killer. They seem to be preparing Datish to be the utility OL backup. My guess, is Datish will spell a tackle on one series, a guard on the next and maybe even Mangold once games are solidified. Cordle impressed them in the spring and they want him ready for 06. Depends on how quickly he comes back. He may be out another 2 weeks or so.

Well, it looks like the staff is leaning towards redshirting him for this year, barring any injury to Mangold.
