Off the top of my head the most recent era's true frosh nickel backs:
1995-A Winfield
1998-N Clements
1999-M Doss(D Nickey started at FS as a frosh iirc)
2001-D Fox
2005-M Jenkins (tbd but great start)
There were others who played early of course but thats just the ones I remember being the .05 man as true frosh and ending up having pretty solid careers.

Nice list but didnt Whitner play too as a freshmen nickel back and I think one of EJ underwood or Everett did to, but I maybe mistaken here.

The concensus is that he will definetly not RS and with his early enrollment, he could play a key role in the secondary by the middle of next season. His combination of cover skills and his ability to hit will get him on the field early.

Whitner and the elder Underwood both played as frosh but in more of a backup role iirc.
The ones I listed were the ones I remember, as best I can, being the nickel back from day 1 as freshman.
Regardless, I agree with 44820 and others...his combination of athleticisim, enrolling early and wide open competition for PT next year all equal up to painting the endzones for Coleman playing early and often in 2006.

I can agree with that though. No doubt the need is higher for a CB with Youboty's departure. Probably in better shape depth-wise at safety now that I think of it. Either way I agree with the comment that he could play that nickel position. Seems like a corner/safety combined and I think he could be the perfect candidate for that. I would look for him to possibly get a shot at kick returns as well. Very good returner.

Very good pt. His returns on his videos were very impressive, but most guys in high school are.
I would think they would look to an upperclassman first, just due to experience unless they were a TGII type return man, and even he didnt get a shot right away.

I think Youboty and Gonzo were next in line to take over for Holmes. I would look for Gonzo and Ginn to start off the year returning and maybe Coleman gets a few reps back there as the year goes along. He does have exceptional vision for returns. But I would look for him on kick and punt teams for sure. He could be a great gunner along with Welch.
