Jim Davidson took some really great shots of the spring game. Here's Coleman's pick.

OSU Notebook: Kurt Coleman shows he can cover as well as hit
Sunday, April 20, 2008
BY Mike Popovich
REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER
COLUMBUS Kurt Coleman's reputation is as a big hitter. But don't underestimate the Ohio State strong safety's ability to make a big catch, too.
Coleman had one on the third play of Saturday's spring game at Ohio Stadium. Todd Boeckman threw a deep pass intended for Brian Hartline, but the junior from Dayton went stride for stride with Hartline and picked it off.
"I feel like I have the speed to contend with anybody and can cover anybody," Coleman said. "I don't want to be known as just a hitter. I want to make plays, hitting or making interceptions."
No one has to convince Hartline.
"That was a great play," he said. "It was raining pretty hard, so I was going to let it come to me instead of me going to it so I wouldn't drop it. I had Kurt probably by about 4 yards. ... It was one of those things where he made an awesome play."

with out going into a complete tirade and turning this into a brian hartline thread, hartline needs to learn and go get the ball. brian "longaberger basket catch" hartline needs to stop with the basket catch and go get the ball, stop waiting on the ball to come to him, comeback and get the ball, multiple interceptions last year should have been caught or broken up...

Brian said after the game that he thought Coleman was out of the play and since it was wet out, he didn't want to risk dropping the ball so he was going to let it drop into his hands. Here is a clip of him doing a nice job of breaking up a pass to prevent an int in the NC game since you mentioned it.
Anyway, I've watched that int by Coleman over and over and it's more impressive each time. I hope they become the norm for him this season.
