Stepanovich was also a high school Ohio state champ (IIRC) and Matt Roth from Iowa last season was a state champ wrestler as well.
A football coach just can't give those guys what they get from years of wrestling. Defensive linemen should all be required to go through wrestling practices in the winter. Wrestling and the D line go hand in hand.
Doesn't sound like he's going to be wrestling in college though. Hellickson would love to have this kid.

Wrestlers make outstanding linemen... they know how to use leverage and excellent tacklers...

I have been tracking this prospect for awhile and call me old school but I love his game, its all about leverage and power, perfect combination for a defensive tackle.

I think we get a commitment from him this weekend.
I love his potential, He shows great leverage and that is what I think makes a very good dt. He can put on some pounds then we have ourselves a good one.

i don't think that he'll be a guy that is great in pursuit like Pitcock is, but it will definitely be hard to block him one-on-one. he's got the makings for a great nose tackle.
