IMO, Laurinaitis will play OLB in the NFL, and is probably more suited for OLB than MLB in college, due to his size. He has the range and speed like Hawk, but Hawk had more free space because of his position. I would guess that JL's ability to make reads has him at MLB, rather than a 250lb guy who could plug the gaps more. I don't think we have any true 250lbers on the roster who could handle a starting spot right now. JL did have 18 tackles against LSU, a NC game record. The only game I recall where he really struggled was PSU 07.

Oh yeah his size is plenty right now and I agree with that, but he'll add another 5-10 pounds of muslce as he matures though. If he's already 230-235 then like I said he may come in around 240ish by the time he's been in the NFL for a couple years.
lol Also him runnin in the 4.4's proves my point even further. The guy is just a rare talent, and with his attributes there won't be anyone like him in the nation. We're talkin bout a guy who can fit into almost any system as well. Pro, shotgun, and he even lines up as reciever sometimes. The guy can do it all with the way he runs whether it be out running or his favorite over powering other players.

No coach will let him get up past 240. He's not Jerome Bettis, and you WILL lose speed if you weigh that much. 230 is an ideal weight.

I agree, 230 to 235 is a perfect weight. Plus they will help him get faster if need be because of the weight.

Yeah, once you start pushing 240 and up, you take a huge risk. Not only will it cause him to lose speed, but his knees would also take more of a beating. Runningbacks are prone to bad knees, so you want to do whatever you can to prolong the life.

Wells is an absolute beast. I know you probably dont wanna think of this, but remember in the 1st half against LSU Wells stiff-armed a LSU player and threw him to the ground. I went nuts when i saw that.
