I too wonder how these two were counted in.
Obviously you would want a lower score.
Especially number 6, a 1 is definitely the better score here.

i hate bob stoops. this only confirms my theory about this guy. it's pretty amazing when you compare him with tressel.
stoops is pretty much a dick that doesn't really care about his player's, while tressel is genuinely interested in them as human beings.
the big xii is such a weak conference. we sucked last year, yet i honestly believe we probably could have gone undefeated in the big xii. oklahoma st was running over people all year, and we totally shut it down, even though we only had an average defensive line by our standards. it all starts up front, if your d-line can dominate games you will be very tough to beat. look no further than the 2002 and 03 seasons, as well as our shellacking at the hands of florida st in the sugar bowl. of course, once we got to the title game, we would have gotten blasted by usc.
everybody thinks that stoops is so great because he "reloads" every year. when, the truth of the matter is, the conference is so weak that he can go 8-0 every year, regardless of how good his team actually is.
i can't believe my brownies drafted not one, but TWO members of oklahoma's incredibly overrated secondary. everytime i see them play their secondary is getting its ass handed to them. their 2 losses in '02 when they were supposed to be this juggernaut, their total haplessness against a kansas st team which we destroyed, their escapes in '04 where they gave up like 30+ pts in each game, and their complete inability to defend the forward pass against usc. why the hell didn't we draft dustin fox, mel tucker should have stormed into the draft room and slit open phil savage's throat, that guy bought into the oklahoma hype, hook, line and sinker.
if you ask anybody in the country that isn't a buckeye fan, who's a better coach, tressel or stoops, and 100 percent will respond with stoops. i hate that arrogant dickhead, if only we could have gotten past meeeeeechigan in '03, krenzel and jenkins would have had a field day while jason white would have gone home in a body bag. i still remember stoops's halftime interview in the lsu game, the lady asked him something like "how are you guys going to adjust in the 2nd half against the nation's number 1 defense?", and like the jackass he is, said "they don't have the best defense, we do" and the lady was probably thinking to herself "whatever, i might know little about football and am pretty much nothing more than a vapid whore, but all i saw in the first half was you guys get completely dominated, keep telling yourself that your the best because you can beat the even more hapless mack brown and baylor 70-0"
i would hate to be an auburn fan, they had a very sweet team that was more than capable of beating usc (not saying that they would have, just saying that it would be a close game), but everybody dismisses them because they are so impressed by how usc blew out oklahoma. yes usc is a great team but oklahoma [censored]ing sucks. imagine in '02 if oklahoma had somehow managed to survive the a&m and okie st games, it would have been them vs. miami in the fiesta, miami would have killed them, and everybody would laugh at us if we claimed that we could have beaten miami.
in my opinion, he's one of the most overrated coaches in the history of the universe.
i apologize for the length of this post, but anytime the thought of bob stoops enters my brain i just [censored]ing lose it.

No Joe Pa or Bubba Bowden on the list! I have serious issues with list of coaches that ignores those two.

another thing i want to mention. this rating has nothing to do with wins and losses. this is the PLAYERS responding to questions about how the coach treated them, not the media rating a coach based on their uninformed biases and overreacting to a great/bad year in the W-L department.
basically, the players all love tressel because he is fair, honest, and cares about them, as well as being a good coach. the other big name coaches that scored low might be smart x's and o's guys, but they are dicks.
i'm so glad we have tressel, he's the next joe paterno, he's going to be here many many years and leave an idelible legacy. hopefully people will learn to realize that there is more to coaching a football team than "opening up" the offense (i already went on my stoops rant, so i'm going to avoid ranting here, even though i'm so [censored]ing sick of the phrase "opening up" the offense that i want to vomit). really, would you rather have tressel or urban meyer? man, if we don't play usc in the rose, i really hope it's florida. GOD would that be satisfying.

The one for which I have a sly grin is this rating:
<table border="0" width="100%"> <tbody><tr><td height="30" valign="top"> The best phrase describing Coach is: </td> <td align="right"> <!-- Other: 0.0--> Mentor/Role Model: 10.0%
Well Respected: 50.0%
Father Figure: 10.0%
<!-- Assertive: 0.0--> <!-- Drill Sergeant: 0.0--> Troubled: 20.0%
Corrupt: 10.0%
</td></tr></tbody> </table>
Which probably does sum up Fat [censored] Phil Fulmer pretty well.
Wonder who he [censored]ed off so badly?

I agree that the Big12 is overrated, and that tOSU would've had a decent shot at going undefeated in the North, but I don't think you could use the OkieSt game to say you could've gone undefeated in the South. IIRC, OkieState lost to every other B12 South team except Baylor.
Offtopic: Has anyone seen OkieState's non-conference schedule for next year? Montant State, Florida Atlantic, and Arkansas State.

That 'lady' was Lynn Swann, who is not a lady (not that I have first-hand proof of this). I remember that exchange. Stoops was a dick and argued scoring defense vs. total defense as if the point was worth being a dick over.

obviously i can't prove that we would have gone undefeated in the big xii. all i know is that we are going to totally destroy texas and i am going to bet a lot of money (actual cash, not vcash) on it. just like i plunked 200 down on usc, as i scrambled to set up my online account right before kickoff when trev alberts started talking about how oklahoma was going to physically dominate or some other such nonsense.
