Stupid sportswriters
How do these morons get these jobs?
Mike Lopresti is just totally baffled by the NCAA's announcement of only one no-no in our football program: Quote:
Am I the only one smelling the implication that if Maurice Clarett truly lied, why isn't OSU suing him for "slander"? That's the only conclusion I can draw from this dope. Apparently, he actually thinks it would be in Ohio State's best interest to drag Clarett into court - rehash all of the past - and sue him for a part of his 3rd round signing bonus? I guess the fact that Clarett was suspended for lying 17 times during the initial investigation into this mess is irrelevant. I guess it's impossible to conclude that a known liar might have "engaged in massive slander", yet again. What a dumbass! http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...weredquestions |

Lopresti is a fag. Quick everyone, print this post - that will make it true. |

Just because OSU wouldn't sue for slander, that doesn't mean that Clarett didn't engage in it. Suing for slander and winning would do more damage to the university and the football program than doing nothing and moving on. Ass.

And where is the mention that MoC offered to recant his charges at one point if it would help his situation with tOSU? That's a significant part of the 'story' to me.

Note: I'm not advocating taking MoC to court, so leave me out of that part of the discussion. I'm just offering my take on what the writer was saying. |

From Ivan Maisel on ESPN this morning...
3. Ohio State football escapes an NCAA investigation with only the $500 in quarterback Troy Smith's pocket to answer for, which means that Jim Tressel knows how to win with defense whether it's November or May. Another sportswriter crying in his soup, unable to admit that rumor and speculation do not equal fact or truth. |

I would laugh if the NCAA just goes "OK enough is enough," and puts some kind of stipulation on ESPN.

*steps on soapbox*
Hey guys, I know this is kind of a hot issue right now, but remember we do have a separate forum for this stuff. This thread is fine, but if we're going to go on a bitch session about all the cockbreaths in the media that are talking smack about OSU, let's do it in the appropriate forum, and leave this one to football. *steps off soapbox* |
