I already have my Texas tickets but my two buddies are trying to decide wheather to buy off of ebay ( anywhere between $500 and $1000 for two) or wait and take a chance on a scalper at the game.
Personally I can see both sides, on ebay you will probably get a better seat for the price but a scalper could be cheaper ( or higher) but the better seats could be gone by then. Any opinions? Also I forgot to mention that the tickets for Texas on ebay seem to be getting more scarce all the time. |

No question in my mind you will save money purchasing the day of the game from scalpers. But not everyone is comfortable going to the stadium without a ticket in hand. If you can keep your cool and wait until close to game time no way you should pay over $300 - and that is higher than I have ever seen. Also, scalpers will have pretty much any seat you want.
Just be mindful that both students and faculty tickets may require IDs this year. |

Not may, they WILL require id this year. The students and faculty have the option of upgrading to a full price ticket when they order their season tix. If they pay the upgrade ahead of time, then anyone can use the ticket. Just ask to make sure that the ticket is already upgraded if buying from a student or faculty member.
Of course, you could use the student/faculty id of that person and you would not need to pay an upgrade, but who wants to give that away to someone to use? |

How can you know if the ticket you are buying requires an ID? The seller can tell you anything. After all, he just wants to get some money for his ticket.

Faculty get normal tickets- an usher could not tell where you got them from. Student tickets are a reusable pass-they look nothing like normal game tickets. I wonder how strict the university will be about IDs-I have mine from 10 years ago-would they buy it if I went in w/ a student pass I bought from someone?

I echo what OH8CH stated earlier. I personally would not buy my tickets off of ebay unless I landed a awesome deal. You can always find tickets at the stadium the day of the game, just get there early and walk. Never buy off the guys who are on the corner of Lane and High St. They are the highest priced scalpers there. |

My season tixs are faculty and they require the upgrade this season. It's no longer just a normal ticket. The application gave the option to upgrade to a full priced ticket at time of the package by paying the upgrade fee. I think you can still upgrade on a game by game basis but from what I understand, it can only be done the week of the game and not on game day. You can call the ticket office to find out any answers to any questions. |

Thanks for the input, as I stated I already have my tickets but my friends are getting nervous. It is a shame because I sometimes have extra tickets but this Texas games is a little different.
Thanks again. |
