RB Brandon "Zoom" Saine (official thread)

He had a little trouble adjusting to the varsity level last year, but after that he was awesome. He had a few minor injuries that ket him out a few games. We scrimmaged Springfield South 3 weeks ago and he went for 301 all purpose. Against Grove City I think he had 178 rushing on 17 carries with 2 touchdowns. One TD was 83 yards untouched, thats what a 4.2 40 will get you.

Brandon had 24 carries for 147 yards and a TD in a 28-0 win over Trotwood-Madison.

I know Brandon may not end up as highly touted as Herron, Mabin, Gamble or Williams, but this year he is putting up some solid numbers. Last night he had 214 yards on 26 carries and 3 TDs against a good Northmont team.

vs. Sidney he had 15 rushes for 181 yards and 3 rushing TD's, 2 catches for 99 yards, and 2 receiving TD's

Piqua will be in the playoffs but I don't know where the game will be played. I live about 10 minutes away from Piqua so if it is around here I will go check him out. I haven't seen him since his freshman year.

Haven't heard anything in awhile. Does he paly basketball in the winter, or does he run indoor. I think this kid is an exciting prospect for 07, and I look forward to see how he camps this summer

I am originally from his neck of the woods, and I happen to know some coaches that coach in the same league. They are saying that Saine is the real deal. They also told me that he is a football player that runs track, not the other way around (like it is perceived).

I saw Saine at a indoor meet a couple of weeks ago. He won the 55 dash against some very good competition (Donnie Evege was also in the finals). He is super fast but he definately is built well enough to play rb or safety. He was very impressive.

I go to school with Brandon and I know he went to the OSU vs MSU basketball game. Coach Tressel also made a visit to our school today.
I am looking forward to the upcoming season to see him play.

He is but I don't think this will play a huge role. I saw his film last year and it was very impressive. Very fast and is definetly a player. I learned how fast he is when I faced him in a track meet at Piqua. Also raced against Trempe and Greg Orton in the same race(needless to say it was a tough meet). But he is so good that I would hate to see somebody else get Brandon but I'm just not sure how far down the priority list he is. He is also a good receiving RB, so I don't think WR would be out of the question. I just think he comes behind Stephens, Williams, and possibly Herron(very close here but I would go with Saine because of his receiving skills). I know Martin and Clay are good OOS RB's but I'm not sure we have a great shot at them. Interesting to see what happens here.

the staff will give Brandon the attention he deserves...the early offers typically go out to kids who are thought to be OSU leans. JT's philosophy is typically to offer the Nate Olivers and Donnie Eveges of the world early so we can hopefully lock them up quickly and then the staff can turn their attention to kids like Brandon or Andrew Dailey...kids who they know they will be in a battle for. I realize that Ben Martin has an early offer and he will obviously be a battle with ND, so obviously this theory has its exceptions.

This may not play as big of a role as once anticipated, as RB mentioned...
