The coaches are going to be very selective in '07. Regardless of Stephens' connection to OSU, the staff is not going to offer a kid all the way over in Texas when they feel like they can get a kid with similar talent in their own backyard.

So do you, persoanlly, feel as though Saine is a better...or at least equal to....talent as compared to Stephens? And number two, Saine's favs growing up were ND and Mich...doesn't that scare you just a tad bit? I just hope the staff doesn't put all their eggs in one basket.

I think the staff knows its going to be difficult to get any 5-star running back in the next class with Wells and Wells already here. So, I think the staff will be extremely selective and may not even be all that dissapointed if we strike out with Saine.

There is a wealth of talent at RB in the Midwest in '07...Saine, Herron, Morgan Williams, Chaz Jones, John Clay, Dale Martin, Robert Hughes, etc. They have been in contact with all these kids, and Stephens. They certainly aren't putting all their eggs in one basket. As far as favorites go, they have to start recruiting him before they can be considered the favorites...

A writer for Scout and I were discussing which RBs we felt had the best shot at offers in '07 and I am pretty sure we were in agreement that Saine and Clay are probably the best looking RBs right now. I think everyone has been quick to hop on the Stephens to OSU bandwagon, and I just happen to think that there are some RBs in our own backyard that are just as good if not better. I am a big fan of Morgan Williams too...

What we think doesn't ultimately matter Mic... It's the coaches' opinions that matter, and they have seen fit to offer a couple of RB's before Stephens (Saine and Martin). They must have their reasons. It always works out in the end, so have some faith and sit back and watch 2007's class unfold. We will have a limited number of scholarships next year, so as 45 said, the staff will be very selective. As far as Brandon's childhood favorites, that doesn't always matter when it comes time to pick a school. I guarantee that a lot of the kids that pick tOSU don't grow up loving the Buckeyes, but they realize when the chips are on the table that there may be no better place for them to get their education and advance their football careers. Trust me when I say that if Saine has an offer this early, then he is a stud. Bank on it.
