Well, tomorrow is a big day especially for the quarterbacks. I can't wait for this spring game anymore.

I agree that it will go on into august. Smith was a fish out of water with the black jersey on. If was able to be a threat running, he would done very well.

if smith cant execute the simple offense that was run today....there is no way that smith will execute tressels offense on a real gameday....

i was at the game and havent watched the tape yet....but in person....zwick was light years ahead of smith....not even close....

i heard that the QBs were not allowed to run? is that true?

seems that not being able to pull the ball down a take off would severely hamper Smith's game...

whatever...

Yes. Late in the game they let Smith put on a white practice jersey so he could run but the offense self destructed deep inside Scarlet territory and they came away with no points.

my point is.....if he cant hit a receiver...he made krenzel look more accurate than germaine.....

and he didnt have to worry about getting hit.....in fact, there was one play where smith scrambled and was left wide open to a blow that would have put him out of the game.....if he didnt have the black jersey on...

its one thing to be a double threat....pass and run....but smith showed some real difficulty throwing today.....a team could easily neutralize his running in a game sitution.....

zwick is closer to a double threat than smith is......

Smith was dissapointing to say the least, he had zero touch on his ball, and like as everyone was saying was inaccurate. Z looked well, though he had a couple of deep balls he a) overthrew (nice to see that though its been awhile since the receivers havent had to wait on the ball) b) the receivers gave up on and went to the sideline rather than deep or c) jsut threw away. I was actually impressed with Z though, he changed the game, his ability to throw the ball made the gray adjust to his abilities. This to me made pittman so effective.

You guys tlake about smith not being able to run, but likewise they called Z down a few times as he threw great dump offs. if the training wheels are able to come off, he could be the guy we needed. Boeckman was mediocare and looked out of stride switching teams andd sharing times.

The other interesting thing is the receivers on gray should have dominated, but did not due to their inability to get the ball, and lisko and gonzo looked real well against Y and underwood. That is the most interesting things to me. Well see how it plays out, I look for Z under center for the big 3 home games this year.

What will be key is to see them both behind the #1 O-line. The projected starting o-linemen I thought played pretty well, but we are weak (especially at the tackles, behind the starters.

IMO

Zwick will start, the competition is now over .....
Smith will be given a shot ..... but Zwick gets the majority of reps
as the #1 QB

For Smith to take the #1 position, he will have to light it up
EVERY CHANCE HE GETS ...which will be limited as the #2 guy.

I am amazed at how true football fans have viewed this qb battle. Without dropped passes, Smith would have had a higher % completed tan Zwick. And they played Zwicks Game. Now trust me, I have nothing bad to say abouyt Zwick, he did great. But if you think he has a better arm than Smith, your nuts. He plays smarter and with more poise. That is what we need and therefor he will get the job, but please don't let the couple passes we seen lead you to believe that Smith is not the real deal.

A players style gives them there rythym. You take away there style and you take there rythym. Smith was forced to play out of rythym. Ya'll couldn't wait for smith to stumble one time so you could go back to your "golden boy" Craze. Those two take turns out playing eachother all the time. If you think Zwick feels safe from that one game "if thats what you want to call it, then your crazy. He knows what Smith can do and thats why he is not going to relax. He will continue to improve and prove my very first point ever made about these two. Which was"Zwick will end up starting but not before Smith pushes him to exellence". Without Smith pushing him, Zwick would not be where he is. He would have been given the job by default. But now he is earning it the hard way.
