Pretty good measurables and versatility to play multiple positions. If he puts on a little more muscle, it looks like he'd make an intimidating hitter at safety

What position did his father play?
Looks like the kid is definitely one to check out. |

Grant's 100 meters best was 10.72. They round up anything beyond 1 100th for reporting purposes. This was hand timed. Best hand timed 200 was 22.2. 22.81 was an accutrac time at the Irvine Invitational. Spent most of track season nursing various leg injuries that eventually ended his season prematurely. Official SPARQ 40 @ USC Senior Camp 4.41. 6'0" barefoot, heels to the wall & 201 pounds.

Great info! Glad you guys made it over here...
Do you know of any links to local papers, HS football team websites, etc. that might be useful for tracking this player this fall? |

Orange County Register is the local paper that covers the area. You already know about OC Varsity
. I believe DHHSfootball.com is the team site. They just link to OC Varsity for stats and what not though. |

New interview with Grant in the Blog Section
Scout $ 7/20 Brian Schwartz discusses his son's potential and desire to become a Buckeye. Grant is close to an offer from Virginia Tech and may receive a tOSU offer once the coaches return to work. Last edited by osugrad21; 07-20-2005 at 08:48 AM. |

4.5 on the slow track at OSU and a 4.41 SPARQ timed are both impressive. seems like Grant has great speed for his size and strength. I would love to see him get an offer as a potential SS in this class.

I finally took the time to watch Grant's videos and I came away very impressed. Phenomonal athlete. He also looked very good as a QB. I'm no coach by any means, but I was most impressed by his pocket presence - there were several times when he stepped up into the pocket to avoid the rush and still completed the pass. Most "athlete" QBs in high school (or even college) would just tuck that and run away, but he didn't. Heady kid. There were also a few times when he stayed in late and took the hit to complete the pass. Tough kid. Best of all? He loves OSU. I like him.

As I commented in his blog, I just received his highlight tape and will be making clips of each major highlight (there are bunches). He's basically a white Troy Smith, only faster. All the highlights were of him at QB. From what I've seen, he's worthy of an offer...we'll worry later about where to play him.

Pretty sweet knowing he loves the Buckeyes, and would commit if offered. Even more so, hoping JT finds a spot for this guy. We are supposedly "in" on a lot of top ranked players that we really do not stand much of a chance of getting at the end of the day. Rather than dwell on players such as that, let's rake in some 'players' such as Schwartz who will work hard from day 1 and overachieve.
