Welcome Shawntel, you made a great choice. Perhaps a quote of his makes a bit more sense than it did before (or at the very least an ominous hint) in light of a fellow G-Ville prospects decision.... Loooove the mentality he's got, and I seem to remember the same type of thing coming from Chris Wells too. A guy like Rowell, you know he is going to work VERY hard to be the best he can be on the field. I think it would be safe to assume he'll keep on Scott about Ohio State.

I love the DTs we have; I think Denlinger, Worthington, and Larimore are amazing athletes.

Having said that, I also need to see Shaq on the field immediately. Having Nader as our "big run stuffing" DL is going to seem like a joke once Rowell hits the field.

I don't want to be a chicken little of the $cout board type, but I must say: after seeing our D-line get pushed around for a great part of the season, I think that adding 300 pounds of monster to the line is going to be a great boon.

I'm very excited to see Shaq play his first game. I, for one, hope he doesn't red shirt.

I agree with you about Shaq and I do think that he could make an impact next year, but I don't think it will be at the expense of guys not getting the job done...But that is for another thread...

I'll agree we need all the help we can get inside but I don't think Shaq is quite ready for the field freshman year. I've been wrong before though...I think if Goebel puts on 20 lbs. that he would be more likely to get out there early. I could see Rowell come in on obvious run downs though.

Asked about his nickname on the BN radio hour, he said only his grandmother calls him Shawntel.

They also clarified that his last name should be pronounced like it rhymes with 'Howell", (as in Thurston, the Third from Gilligan's Island).

Good post, I know exactly what you're talking about, and alot of it has to do with Shaq's body type. I saw the same thing with Bryant Browning a few years back and actually posted that I thought it would take Bryant 4 years before he saw the field just because of his build-narrow shoulders/big butt. However, based on Bryants quick rise (To me one of the most pleasant surprises on the entire roster) maybe Shaq can do the same. If 20 pounds of Butt can work itsway upward, he's gonna be a monster.
