scout signing day gallery
He asked for current pics, spring/summer 07 don't really apply, especially in shaq's case, who worked incredibly hard to slim down since then, and earn his osu offer. |

There are a lot of things that can be taught to these kids that will help them become better players, but dedication, desire and motivation to meet a goal are only things that can be enhanced not taught.
The fact that Rowell has those intangibles at a young age will only serve him well on the field and in life. A lot of kids have eaten their way out of playing time, it is refreshing to see kids work their tail off (even if only to put the fork and spoon down - I know it was more than that) to earn it. I love the fact that he and Goebel with their motivation and work ethics will be helping lead the way for not only this group but for the future classes. That is not meant to dismiss any of the other players efforts, just that these two with their circumstances (losing weight and keeping off weight as a wrestler) are really in a position to help their teamates do things the right way in order to stay ready to lay it all on the line. |

I think that Shaq losing the weight was not only so that he could actually shed pounds, but maybe also a test to see how dedicated and how hard he was willing to try to get what he truly desired (to be a Buckeye).
He definitely passed, and his dedication makes me think that we have a really good one coming our way. |

Scout$--Making Of The Brew Crew: Shawntel Rowell
From Bill Greene... Shaq's Mom says he is under 300 pounds and does not even look like the same kid after losing 75 pounds. He discusses Coach Ginn and his tremendous impact on the Glenville kids. |

He may very well be the surprise pick up in this years recruiting class.

![]() Seeing a young man work so hard to obtain a goal, and then reaching that goal Should make us all proud. I look forward to him having a fine career at OSU. |

Doug Worthington may actually be a little less...listed at 271
Denlinger is a little light for a DT as well, but i think he's more like 285 |
