Who knows, maybe Ginn will line up in some one back sets in the backfield. He filled in for Zwick when he was hurt, I think he can fill in for Haw or Pittman. I wouldnt be suprised to see that, especially if Wells gets redshirted. Maybe some direct snap plays, or some swing passes out of the backfield to Ginn. Those are my visions atleast, especially if Wells gets redshirted. Im sure he wont be doing too many full contact snaps during practice, but maybe in the games.

Buckeye Tailbacks - 2005 (official thread)
What would happen if we had the RB injury issues that Iowa had last year?
If I remember correctly they were down to 5th or 6th string for some games.
My guess in our running back depth, including players who would carry the ball only in a pinch is... (not neccesarily in order)
Pittman
Haw
Wells
Matthew Johnson
Anderson Russell?
Freddy Lenix?
TGII?
Troy Smith?
Roy Hall?
was anybody else on our roster a star running back in high school in addition to the position for which they were offered? I don't think that any of our FBs have the potential to be ball carriers in a pinch (ala Brandon Joe)

Iowa was also using a walk-on as their 5th string running back. We could go on and on through players on scholarship that just don't play RB for us.

At the risk of being beaten up by the board... I have a question.
Who is Matthew Johnson and what position does he currently play? What year is he?

If we lost most of the RB's we would have to use the shot Ginn more. Even if (god forbid) something happend to Teddy we have Holmes, Dukes, and Gonzo that can make things happen with their feet. Just line up two of the shifty WR's in the close slot and you can run toss sweeps. Don't forget Johnson as a RB sub for power.

Not sure how Dionte would do carrying the ball. His passion is running into linebackers, not running past them. Could he turn that off? I'm afraid even if he was carrying the ball he'd have to stick his helmet in the chest of the first linebacker he saw. We got just a taste of his blocking abilities last year. Can't wait to see how much he's improved.
