For some foolish reason, ESPN is presenting Mark May's own 8-team playoff system. He deemed Va. Tech (#3 BCS, #1 in more BCS computers than anybody else) unworthy of his top-8.
LSU was #1 and he picked them over Mizzou in round 1; tOSU was #4 and defeated #5 Georgia in May's pretend world. No surprise, he picked LSU in the semis.
He has Oklahoma at #3 and USC at #2. I guess he's impressed by USC's 2 wins against teams with winning records. He took USC over West Virginia, and Oklahoma over Kansas in round 1. He picked USC over Oklahoma in OT.

And we get to what all the talking heads thought (read: wanted) at the beginning of the year before USC [censored] the bed against lowly Stanford.

The power to rile up the fan bases of 9 different teams (the 7 that don't win in his dream world, plus Hawaii and Va. Tech for not being selected).

How come Mark May continues to say Ohio State backed into the title game, failing to mention that LSU also backed into the title game?
double standard anyone?

Apparently he thinks Ohio State is better at moonwalking, y'know, like how Michael Jackson dances.
Just when I think he's spewed his most ridiculous possible comment, he manages to top it with something else.
But who are we to question THE POWER?

I'm starting to think these picks and brash statements are coreographed. Anyone else get that opinion? For the BCS game, for instance, you have Lou Holtz picking OSU big and you have Mark May saying OSU doesn't stand a chance. I wonder if either one of them actually believes what they are saying or if they are just doing it to get people like us talking. It is possible, though, that I'm trying to be too rational here and both of those guys really are that stupid. THe more I think about it the more I lean to the latter.
