By the way, I've seen most of Texas's games over the last year and a half. And I ranked Texas #1 in my poll this week. I'm not sure why you assume that I haven't seen them play much, and/or I haven't been impressed.

If we had been beaten by more points, I might agree with you. But we nearly won that game, and should have. If Troy and Justin were shaky due to rotating, then I might hold it against JT. But it was the lack of execution on the line and the dropped passes that lost that game for us more than the QB play.
When you face a juggernaut, you have a good chance of losing. Therefore, I don't understand dropping Tressel's graded based on that game. Troy and Teddy were struggling, and that defense shut us down just as much as ours shut down VY and co.
I think the off-field issues (tho they are not necessarily his fault), or the 3 game skid last year, are better reasons to drop a coach's rating than barely losing a game against the #2 team.

The 3-game skid was already factored in; that's why he wouldn't have been at an A+ in my book, even if he had beaten Texas.
I don't believe I ever mentioned the QB's rotating or the QB play as a reason for the Texas loss, or as a reason for lowering JT's grade.
And I have approved of the way that JT has handled the off-the-field issues in virtually every case, that didn't factor into it. And I gave him an A-, for goodness sakes, I'm not hammering JT!
Part of my reasoning is the simple fact that coaches are always judged based on wins and losses, that's the bottom line. There are understandably times when some people won't think that to be fair.

The whole idea of a bunch of webaholics even trying to grade our coach is, in one word...ABSURD!
Let Jim Tressel , be Jim Tressel!

Yes he did something that was amazing but don’t overlook some of the problems only because of that. JT has had his fair share of problems.... before Ohio State YSU in 2000 was on the top 25 for worst off field programs (forget the name of the poll). Then from Bellisari to Haw(with many more imbetween, most notably Clarett) tOSU hasn’t had the best discipline in the world. I believe this started back when Bellisari was down popping wheelies on High St after throwing back a few beverages, Krenzel beats UM and then in the bowl game, that was meaningless, made a statement to everyone when Bellisari came back in. Granted he missed senior day but if you wanna compare JT to Woody (A- to A+)... he would of never saw the field again. I think that’s the difference between legendary and a damn good coach.
<O </O That being said he won a Natl Championship, and continues to bring in recruits and continues to beat UM... I agree with 21 that his best days are to come still but I wouldn’t agree with an A+ or even an A.
<O </O
I can think of only a few coaches I rather have here at tOSU... Tressel is a damn good coach and who knows give him 4 more years, and maybe he’ll become legendary.
