I'm floored. I think we need some changes on our offensive staff. But I agree with this assessment, and thought before the season that our Rose Bowl or Bust was a little steep. Not for the players, but for the fans. Most elite teams think they're gonna go all the way every year, and how easy it is to see their flaws and explain away our own with new fixes every offseason.

Well like I said in another thread this team had the capabilities to make it to the nc, but the ball just hasnt bounced our way this year. Any one remember when Nebraska won a game whe the ball was kicked off a guys foot and caught in the endzone for a td. Someimes the ball bounces your way sometimes it doesnt. |

The offensive line not getting a good push has been a problem for two seasons now. I am not sure if it is a lack of attitude or if we need to do a better job of recruiting. Smash mouth offensive line play has been a trade mark of Ohio State football for a very long time and we need to get back to that. |

I think a lot of the problem is that everyone went ape[censored] after 2002, because that wasn't a season going in that a whole lot of people were realistically thinking NC. After that, some "fans" see a lot of talent, and just don't understand how hard it is to go through a grueling season and beat everyone, EVERYONE, on your schedule. Hell, these kids get banged up and have a hard time waling during the week, and then everyone expects them to go out and play perfectly 13 straight times against teams just as hungry and often as much or nearly as much talent-wise as they are. 2002 produced a lot of unrealistic expectations, and now everyone al of a sudden expects 5 national championships a decade...it just ain't going to happen folks, and if you implode when a team goes 9-2, I suggest you find a different hobby.

Hey, look at last year. As long as we beat some northern team whose name escapes me and win a bowl game we've had a good season and everybody expects a national title the next year.
[censored] it, at least we aren't coming off a couple of losing seasons like PSU. Things are still wide open in the big ten. PSu is in the drivers seat but they've got a tough schedule. All we can do is cheer our guys on and see where everything winds up in late November.  |
