People Please
to anybody that thinks our guys didn't try their hardest to win that game you are full of it, our guys played hard and just came up short, it's as simple as that, we need to move on to next week
and to anybody that blames the playcalling by the coaches, i wanna see you go out there and try doing their job, wouldn't look too good would it, they are paid to coach because they know what they are doing, as my head coach would say "if i didn't think a play i called was going to work, do you think i would've called it", they need some work but we don't need a thousand fire Bolman threads, let them do their job

You know what I want to see? The power I formation and a reliable pocket passer. I want to see an offensive line that is capable of pass protection and knocking defenders on their asses in the running attack. I want to see a qb that goes through his reads rather than looking at his primary reciever then taking off. I want to see a championship calibur defense get some help from the other side of the ball. I want to see a vicious ground attack setting up play action passes from a qb that can see the rush coming when it is right in front of his face. I want a qb that didn't violate NCAA rules and buddy up to someone that has hurt this program in so many ways.
There is a reason a guy like Zwick has not been successful here. Without protection from his line a pocket passer has no pocket from which to pass. No, the play calling is not the problem. The problem is that Jim Tressel has concentrated on skill players and neglected to stock the most important position on the team: The offensive line. Now we are wasting one of the best defenses this school has ever fielded, a world class recieving tandem and frittering away the potential of a qb that could have been one of the best to ever step onto the field at the Shoe.
Tressel needs to get back to real football. Recruit players that will be able to line up and establish the line of scrimmage. We need to get back to smacking teams in the mouth rather than trying to spread them out and run around them. If we want wasted potential we should have just kept Coop around.

Cicero, are 4 and 5 star OL recruits not good enough for you? Cuz that's what Tressel's been bringing in lately. The unworthy OL talents you are referring to have gone on to start for the NFL. There is not a talent problem on the line. there is a coaching/scheme problem.

Not to mention that some highly touted recruits become AAs, some become solid players, and some underachieve, and there are a million reasons for this. We get the guys...sometimes they don't live up to their potential, but he's definitely not "ignoring" it.

you don't realize cicero understands much more than the rest of us and tressel. he knows the recruits we should have gone after that we did not go after. and he would have known exactly what to say to get them to come here.
