I refuse to wtite off this season. Hey, we can still beat scUM and finish 10-2. Alot of people looked at the PSU game before the season started and were worried(I wasn't one of them  ). Noone we have left on the schedule plays D like PSU, so maybe we can get 7 more close wins. 
Next year will be fine, I'm just going to enjoy every bit of this one because the offseason seems to last forever.
Of course, we do have Chris Wells to look forward to next year.

I don't think we're gonna make a run for the roses, but to just disregard next year is pretty stupid. We've run the ball pretty well this year, including against tough defenses... I'm not sure why there is no chance of a dominant running game.

Now thats poor form to me. Why the histronics about next year just because its obvious we will not be a NC type team? Did I say anything about notbeing excited or not watching the games?
My point is based strictly on the facts we have at hand right now and 5 years worth of data. If you hold out hope that some unknown factor will inject itself into the equation and the offense will carry the team while the defense gets some experience next year then great...tell us what that factor is in your opinion. Personally, I love to hear other opinions and am quite open minded to them if they have even the slightest grounding in reality.
To go flying off into a BN type tirade about why even tune in next year etc and start on me personally is kinda uncalled for but I understand everyones a bit frayed after last night.

i have been saying this from the time the game ended last night
we need to move on, we lost, its as plain and simple as that, why bitch and complain of what could have been, how is complaining going to get us anywhere, you think you all posting what tressel should do is going to have any affect on how we play, tressel doesn't read these forums, and if he did, would he listen to you, no because he is the head coach and you aren't, that is why he is getting paid the big bucks, because he knows what he is doing, it may look easy for you to say we shouldn't have run that play while you are watching on tv, but he has to make split-second decisions on the field and sometimes they don't always work out, its the past we can't go back in time and change it

well there is still a chance at a BCS bowl, very small and i don't think we will make one, but i will leave that possibility open, i really don't know what bowl game its hard to say

This is the part I have a problem with. Not the hate for our offense, and fear that it will produce an ugly season.
2006 schedule:
Wins: NIU, Cinci, BG, @IU, Minny, @Illinois
Should Win: @Northwestern, @Iowa
Wash: PSU, @MSU, Michigan
Underdog: @Texas
Best result: 11-1 or 10-2 IMO
Likely result: 9-3
Worst result: 8-4
I really don't see us losing more than 4 games next year. These weren't slouches that we lost to this year.
So when you guarantee that we can't win more than 9, that rubs me the wrong way.

Jax, since you seem to know the answers .... please tell me how they should fix the problems. Your pessimism is glaring, and that is fine and all, but you let it interfere with some of your logic I think. It's been established in your last few posts that you think were going to suck for the foreseeable future, how do they fix it? You go off past records and stats and leave it at that. I'm sure Tressel is aware that they have lost the last 3 road openers, and that they aren't good on the road. That's pretty easy to see, and everyone on this board can figure that out without pulling up 5 years worth of data, it's more common sense than anything else. Obviously you are an offensive mastermind, perhaps you could send Tressel an email or arrange for a meeting to discuss strategies. Hell, maybe start up a website called "firejimbollman.com"........ I'd love to hear how you think the situation could be fixed. I know we are all fans here, and some are really disgusted with the offense........but damn man, this [censored] gets old. Losing is painful, but reading the same recycled "we need to change (insert reason here)", or "Fire Jim Bollman" is even more painful. Obviously Tressel isn't going to fire Bollman, that has been established. Obviously we all know the offense isn't playing consistently, and something needs to be fixed. Instead of pointing out what everyone already knows, how about pointing out how you think they can fix it.
