There have been 38 plays reviewed by the Pac10 replay booth. Of those 38 plays, the conference has already admitted that 4 plays were wrongly ruled by the replay officials. In the ASU game, the refs on the field correctly (and this comes from the conference) ruled that Reggie Bush made a catch on a long pass play. The replay official reviewed the play and overturned it.
I have been a proponent of replay, but that doesn't mean that I think every replay system is good. Obviously the Pac10 system needs work. One key problem is that refs use replay as a crutch, often making calls that they wouldn't otherwise make. They'll rule a fumble even if they think the runner is down, because they know the replay official can't review the play if they blow the whistle and rule the play dead.
That then raises the question: What if the ref had a better angle than any camera, and the replay official can't find any conclusive evidence of the runner being down? The paly stands, right or wrong.
The average delay from replay is 1 minute and 58 seconds. That irks Carroll, too.
On an unrelated note, reports from those in South Bend indicate that the Irish have let the stadium's grass grow. I imagine the sprinklers were running last night, so I guess that means game on.

damn i missed the voting on this, oh well it was just another chance for me to lose all my vCash
btw i thought the Pac 10 system was the same as the Big Ten system, ours works and i don't think there has been a bad call in our replay system in two years, like you said the Pac 10 has had 4 bad calls made by the replay people and this is their first year, wow i don't know if they just don't know what they are doing or what
