The turf in the Horseshoe does happen to be a combination of synthetic fibers and cool season turfgrasses. I'd go on but it would hijack the thread for sure.

I'm glad the Big Ten stepped up and made this new rule. I remember how disgusted I was with Wisconsin when they danced on our "O" as I sat in our stadium last year. Not only does it inflame, but it is childish and disrespectful. I'm not saying the winning team cannot celebrate, b/c they certainly deserve that by winning; however, when it comes to dancing in the middle of an opponent's field or planting a flag in the same place, there's only immature, disrepectful motives underlying such actions, and accordingly it should be stopped.

Feel free...you know I love that stuff.
Coastal was a primary source on my grad school paper dealing with Turf Management.

I wouldn't want to do that. If you're interested, PM me and I'll go into it. I want to read this discussion because if you prohibit the winning team from doing it away from home, how about the home team after a win. Or, how about the criminoles, the indian, and the spear??? Don't they do that away and at home?
