schaffer had one bad game and what if he was playing injured like Boone did when he had below average games played injured.

You know what that brings up a great idea, although I doubt coach would see it that way. Alex being 90-95% is still pretty great. Tim Shafer has played well the past two weeks. We've got Brandon Smith out for this game and other than Nicol our TE's are very young and inexperienced. Why not slide Tim over to TE next to Boone, ala Tyree last year, and smash scUM in the mouth all day long! When they get tired of us gashing them and move up a LB'er or Safety you go three wides out of it with Pittman in the backfield. Either they respect the run and come up leaving single coverage, christmas for us, or they stay back and continue to get gashed where we control the clock with Pittman and Beanie. If someone has a playstation try that out. In my mind it sets up beautifully. How it would work on the field who knows? Could also go with Shafer moving down to guard and Boone or Rhering out on the end. Thats a jumbo lineup if I've ever seen one!

I am not bashing Schafer but there is no comparison between him and Alex. Schafer has his role and he is vitale for this team but its not a starting LT and yes, he played better against the purple people

What a difference with Alex back. First couple of plays of the game when Alex wasn't in there were shaky and then when he was put in the game things shaped up nicely. Great job by Alex and the O Line they played phenomenal

OSU line an anonymous force
By RUSTY MILLER The Associated Press
COLUMBUS - They average 6-foot-6, have shoulders as wide as a door frame and a combined weight about half that of a new Corvette.
Yet somehow Ohio State’s offensive linemen go about their business almost undetected.
