Don't need a 12th team or conference playoff or title game. A national title playoff like the "former I-AA", II, and III have would more than level the playing field as far as time off.
The time off excuse for our NC debacle is just that--an excuse. Florida had 37 days off before the title game...once you get past a certain point the differences in the amount of time off becomes moot.

The regular season team that won ALL of their games deserved to be there. They did everything they were suppose to do to get in that position: win. Anyone who says they shouldn't have been there is ONLY looking at the NC game. The (uncharacteristically) under-prepared team that showed up that day deserved to lose. |
