Let's face it ESPN is an equal opportunity basher! There like any fair weather friend or fan, there for you except when you need them. It's obvious they have an agenda (playoffs, etc.) and they'll do whatever it takes to get there way!

I think the old conference set ups were horribly unfair but with the new ACC essentially turning the 2 weakes (old ACC and BE) into 1 pretty good conf, thats been eliminated.
The only real out of whack thing right now is ND status as an independent and the 11 member B10 having an unbalanced schedule. Obviously there is a simple fix to both problems if we are dealing in theory alone.
So suppose you have ND in the B10 and a B10 championship game, I'm not advocating it just putting it out there for a playoff scenario, you now have the 5 basic building blocks to a true NC every year.
Champ of the
B10
B12
Pac 10
SEC
ACC
Plus 3 at large bids using something akin to the BCS formula. Higher ranked teams get home filed advantage. NC game is neutral site.
You now have a fair and easily doable 8 team playoff for the D1A football championship and it could all be over by X-mas every year.
True there will always be a team griping about being #9 but just like in basketball its a short lived thing because they couldn't win it all anyway.
The presidents and AD's will never have a playoff because they make so much money under the current system, but if you wanted to have one the ND and B10 situations are the only real road block right now.

IMO, much of his respect he has shown for the Buckeyes went out of the window after he picked us to lose to MSU (then after we won) he picked IU to upset us...Corso is entertaining but him, Holtz, and 14 yr old Desmond Howard need to be gone if they want to run a respectable show.

It's definitely not Tuberville's fault that BGSU cancelled their game with Auburn (during the summer) in order to play OU instead.

Bashing Auburn for the Citadel is retarded. Aside from playing the Citadel, they played in easily the best conference last year, and didn't lose a game. But heaven forbid they had to fill a vacant spot with the Citadel

Even since the buckeyes lost to Penn St and put us out of the NC hunt, instead of routing for the unbeaten teams to lose, I have been routing for the death of the BCS. I would like to see the 2 best teams in every conference square off against each other to determine the championship. I understand that would mean the bowl systems would fail to exist in anyway, and they are far to powerful for that to ever happen. So I hope that we can see at least a play off of the 4 BCS games. They already added a 5th game, and they made the championship game the week after the other 4, but again they failed to make the right choice, and simply filled the open bowl spot with another meaningless game.

I would be all for that, but you would never see a team schedule a tough out of conference game (IMHO).

newsflash, corso was, is and will continue to be a clown up there. I seem to remember MSU giving our D quite a workout, so him picking them is hardly a reason to round up the gang and go egg his house.
