I’m not sure where you’re getting that anyone thought Pete Carroll was a mistake hire; he was roundly thought of as a college coaching star waiting to happen.

who cares about USC and Pete Carroll, they have one good season and suddenly he is a god, I dont buy it, but on the west coast everyone is crazy.

i read the whole column... the last bit was my favorite... PF seems to think tha Jason White from Oklahoma is at least as good as the hype... what a joke... the guy was a Darryl Lamonica clone, who couldn't make the plays in the Big Game(s)...
