Even more telling was our offer to Malcolm.
I like our history and tradition at CB a lot more than VT's.

I do too, I'm just including a detail from his recruitment that backed up our offer. Miami's the only school out there that can compete, as they've had a ton of 1st rounders lately, but we've been doing it longer.

Football: That's what we get for guessing about the defensive depth chart.
According to Donte Whitner, freshman defensive back Jamario O'Neal has been moved from cornerback to safety and is sharing reps with Brandon Mitchell as OSU's number one nickel back. The move is apparently made possible by the emergence of fellow incoming freshman Malcolm Jenkins as a playmaking cover corner.

Tuesday, August 23: Practice 17 (Pads)
The one person, who at the end of the day when we ask ourselves who stood out, is Malcolm Jenkins. He continues to improve daily and is continuously making plays or he is in proper position to make plays.
Monday, August 29: Miami Practice #1 (Shells)
On defense, Tyler Everett spends a lot of time helping Malcolm Jenkins and Andre Amos.
Tuesday, August 9: Practice 2 (Helmets)
This summer, some of the kids would come in after 7 on 7 when they were working on their own, and mention that Malcolm was very, very impressive. Even Monday, Donte Whitner came into my office after practice and said, "Coach, that #2 is a player." I still feel we have to reserve judgment until we get the pads on.
Monday, August 8: First Practice
Practice 1 was a helmets only practice which allowed us to notice the speed on the field at the skilled positions. The one position which really stood out was the speed of our young DB's. Malcolm Jenkins (Fr - Piscataway HS, Piscataway, NJ ) Andre Amos (Middletown HS, Middletown, OH), Donald Washington (Fr - Franklin Central HS, Indianapolis, IN ), and Russell Anderson ( Fr- Marist HS Atlanta, GA) all made plays and showed excellent reaction skills.

Agreed with a big shout out to Mel Tucker for recognizing him at camp and singling him out to JT for an offer. Man I am going to miss that guy. Lets hope the combo of Haynes and Beckmen is greater than Tucker which is a huge task.

If I heard right, I believe this kid has cracked the two deep.
