I agree. I think we need WRs in this class more than we need DBs.

I think this just shows the importants JT & Co. place on certain positions. He seems to recruit a lot of D-line and DB's, not to mention punters.
I just like the name, it reminds me of another Jenkins we had here that turned out to be pretty good.
If this guy got an offer based on his camp preformance, he must have been pretty good, because there were a lot of good DB's there.

I don't think that there is any reason to believe that some of these DB's can't play on the other side of the ball. We know Ginn will play some and then then we have the incomming freshman as well.

While I am concerned about the # of DBs offered, I always find it positive to hear about offers that result from camps.
It seemed to work out really well in the past, I know AJ Hawk, Nick Mangold and Robbie Simms were offered after camp performances, and even though they weren't ranked extremely high, they have turned out to be the best of the bunch. Camp offers mean the coaches get to see and interact with the players, observe how they are able to learn and apply it on the field and see them against other top-notch competition.
So anytime I see a "Camp Offer" I feel it has to be a good sign they're a player.
I remember reading Chris Pool said he talked to a Big Ten recruiting coordinator and was schocked to hear about how many offers schools make based simply on the offers the recruit already had without doing their own research. It is understandable on a logistical level, there are just too many recruits out there to break down individually, but it is scary how one offer can roll into many and how that can increase a player's "stock"

Rivals on Malcolm Jenkins (7/16/04)
Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers are his solid top three.

Rivals on Malcolm Jenkins (7/20/04)
It sounds like Ohio State and Virginia Tech lead; Malcolm hopes to decide before the season starts.

It is amazing how many kids want to decide before the season starts. Seems like being recruited is becomming more of a hassle (probably because of people besides the coaches) and more are opting to get it over with.

Remember some of these guys will be OLB and others will be WR's. You also need these guys to pl;ay special teams. These type of players are very important to all three phases of the game.

I can't help but sound arrogant- based on the two schools we're competing against, I cant see why he wouldn't choose us unless playing time was his only concern. Yeah Rutgers is in-state and have been successfully recruiting NJ over the past couple years but I still dont understand why you would pick Rutgers over OSU. VTech has been hot and cold but except for '99 always seem to be ranked high and then choke late in the year.
