does anybody really believe that MSU was just as good as OSU in 1998? Heck no. OSu choked. Or maybe as Mililani would say, OSU lost because they just didn't want to play hard for their coach.

Man, your hospital needs to take inventory of it's hallucinogenic stock. The 1998 OSU team did not go out on the field all [censored]ed at Cooper. I would agree that the chocked big time in that (big lead late in the game against a far outmanned team at home playing hard to maintain their hold on #1). The 1971 Rose Bowl game against Stanford was a completely different situtation...on the road (the other side of the country as a matter of fact) against a much better foe (the outright Pac-8 champions led by their Heisman Trophy winner), with the OSU team all angry that Woody had pulled the carpet from under them concerning off-time prior to the game. Key players later admitted to purposely not putting forth their best effort.
