Script Ohio at away games
University of Texas fan here. I found a link of your band doing the script Ohio, and have been watching it over and over again (yes, I'm an idiot). And I was at the game in Columbus this year, by the way. Great gameday atmosphere. Ohio State has quickly become one of my favorite teams. My question is, does your band do the sript Ohio at away games, or is that something only done at home? I'm really hoping they do it at the game in Austin next year. Can't wait for that game (and can't wait to show you guys Texas hospitality at our tailgate parties).

If they make the trip, and I do believe they will be making that one, you will see it. They don't however travel to all of the away games.
Answer me a question...
What is it about Okie State that you guys let them get out to a big lead the last couple of years just to come back and spank them?

I really don't have a good answer for that question. It is a strange and unpredictable thing. It is ultimately the product of a group of 18-22 year olds playing a game, which is part of what makes college football so much fun and so exasperating, at the same time. For whatever reason, this team seems to go into the Okie State game complacently, thinking it will be an easy win. They quickly learn that nothing is easy, they decide to get their act together, and (after their fans go through a certain level of heart palpitations) ultimately take care of business. Probably not that dissimilar to what you guys went through with your 2002 team. |

If TBDBITL does travel to Austin, watch for a phenomenon that Buckeye fans have observed at away games for many years. Seventy thousand voices booing in unison during the process, seventy thousand flashbulbs going off simultaneously at the end of it.
But then, with the respect that OSU and Texas have developed for each other, maybe your fans won't boo.

I'd even be ok with booing. Just don't hit them with beer bottles, throw them against walls and break out their car windows like they did in Crappy Valley...
EDIT: And after all that, not even let them march on the field because 'they might damage it.'

There is no way in hell your band will be booed in Austin. We do this occasionally to hated conference rivals (OU and Texas A&M come to mind), but I don't remember ever seeing it done to an out of conference opponent. Your band and fans will be treated well here. |
