So let me get this straight... We take the #2 team down to the wire and lose to the #10/11 team on the road and at night. (all hail mighty) notre dame takes the #1 team down to the wire and loses to an unranked opponent at home, but they're still 3 spots ahead of us?
Oh, I hope tennecheat kills them. |

Don't forget that we're 6-2 and they're 5-2, and the team we lost to actually jumped to #1 in the polls. Ain't life grand?

Many of these things will straighten themselves out over time.
ND has to play Tenn in South Bend, not a gimme, though I personally feel they will win through the air against the best part of a Vol squad. Next up Navy - no doubt a win, Syracuse, they only lose to the 'Cuse if Weis is doped before the game. Then on the road in Stanford, whose new coach Harris, has had plenty of experience playing against Notre Dame and perhaps has the only mind sufficiently agile to dissect Weis' play-calling tendencies. Whether that is enough to halt the ND TD machine is another matter. So, what gets settled - ND runs out 9-2 and frankly they deserve a good bowl game based on such a showing. Nobody else, except ND, above the Buckeyes does not have a legitimate argument for currently being ranked higher. What gets sorted out? Many of these ranked teams end up playing one another (SEC and ACC). There will be fall-out and Ohio State's record starts to look better and better, particularly in the computer rankings, as the season comes to its end. Here's a thread I started awhile ago on Blue and Gold just to see if they see the bias themselves. Nothing special, but possibly a fun argument. |

This justifies using computers in the BCS. While members of the media may all be ready to bear Weis' love children, the computers are not enamored with green jerseys or some sort of paranormal "echoes".
Last week, ND garned a paltry .14 or something in computer points which dropped them to #15 in the BCS rankings. Justice served. |
