What's all this nonsense about computers? Sagarin has us at #4 and, on average, we are at #5 across all the polls when margin of victory in figured in. None of us have a problem with that, right?
 Why Oklahoma and no Auburn? Strength of schedule in the BCS formula. Sagarin has these at #8 and #82 respectively. Even when margin of victory is figured in Auburn is only rated at #21 and Oklahoma is at #24. Oklahoma lost to TCU, Texas and UCLA, a combined 24-1. Opponents to date 46-19. Teams that they beat have a record of 22-18. Every team Oklahoma has played has at least a .500 record. Auburn lost to Georgia Tech and LSU, a combined 11-3. Opponents to date are 31-30. Teams that they beat have a record of 20-27, and they include some real powder puffs. Only 4 of the teams that Auburn has played are above .400. Personally, I think that they probably will both end up with four losses, although I like Auburn to come off a loss and sneak up on Alabama.

Would a #8 get us a BCS game? What # 12 to 6 , would? We probably won't get up to 4 or 5. I think we're in a real crap shoot for a BCS!

Well, jsut for the record, I dont see ND beating Tenn. this weekend. ND has had a week off to prepare, but Tenn. is comming to town with something better - rage and the guilt to prove your worth. I seriously think its a tie between Purdue and UT as to who was more overrated this year, but no way will Fulmer and his crew allow themselves to not go bowling or even get one more quality win under their belts.
Cmon Tenn, VaTech, USC, and Wisky!!!

Tennessee was giftwrapped the LSU game and probably should have lost the UAB game too. This team should be 1-6. Regardless, can anyone believe that the epic in-state rivalry, Tennessee/Vanderbilt, could be between two 5-5 teams playing for a bowl game?

I am not so sure about the ND and Tenn game. Everyone reasons man they will be [censored]ed and spitting fire now... well last year when we got embarrased by NW we should have been coming out spitting fire, etc, but when a team is struggling it hard to get out of that funk. Hell even if ND loses they will only drop to 10 at the most...lol

Good point about Va Tech beating Miami. Here's one scenario that works: VT wins out and stays at #3, beating Miami and FSU, knocking them below us in the BCS. We'd still need a PSU loss, maybe a second UCLA loss (other than USC), along with losses by LSU and Alabama to put us at a possible #4 with three conference champs ahead of us. That gives ND a lot of teams to climb over in the computer polls to get to #6, and I don't see them doing it.
It's still very possible that we can get the B10 BCS bid outright, however.

here is something quite interesting!... (a loophole)
Bowl Championship Series (BCS) - Rose, Orange, Sugar, Fiesta Bowls. In the event the Conference football champion or co-champion has a No. 1 or 2 ranking in the Bowl Championship Series poll, the Conference champion or co-champion shall participate in the BCS national championship game. If two or more teams are tied for the Conference championship, and one of the tied teams is ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in the BCS poll, that team shall participate in the BCS national championship game, and the other team(s) will be available for selection as an at-large team in the BCS pool. In years that the Rose Bowl hosts the national championship game and the Conference champion is not ranked No. 1 or No. 2, the champion or co-champion will be available for selection by the Orange, Sugar, Fiesta, or other bowls designated for inclusion in the BCS. If the champion or co-champion is not ranked No. 1 or 2, that team shall participate in the Rose Bowl in years when the Rose Bowl is not hosting the national championship game as follows: (then follows the tiebreakers) Here!... re-read In years that the Rose Bowl hosts the national championship game and the Conference champion is not ranked No. 1 or No. 2, the champion or co-champion will be available for selection by the Orange, Sugar, Fiesta, or other bowls designated for inclusion in the BCS. Note: The Rose Bowl is hosting. It does in no way state WHO is the Conference champion, unless the Rose Bowl is the venue. So under that ruling, The BCS could coose ANY Co-Champion, as it chooses.
