Ohio State has lost it's last 7 bowl games in the state of Florida and won it's last 3 in Arizona. This makes me a little nervous saying "Orange", even though it's seemingly irrelevant to this year's team.

Regardless, I'd rather us go to the Orange because we haven't won it in 30 years. It would be cool to be able to say we've won all 4 BCS level games within the last 10 years. (Acknowledging the fact the Rose wasn't a BCS bowl at the time)

Definitely the Motor City bowl. Michigan can be really nice that time of year!

I'll take Orange just so I can drive home from it in an hour and sleep in my own bed (if I want to).

I'd love to see us play ND or Va Tech since we can't play Texas, USC or Penn State.

OK. I'll go on my bowl game rant again. Why not Ann Arbor or the Shoe? If the pros can play night games in Green Bay in January, why can't college teams. Let's play Miami in a BCS game held in the north in January. Why should we fund Florida/Arizona/California tourism industry?

Beyond that, I don't give a damn what color jerseys we wear, it's an away game in Florida or California. And look at the number of times Big Ten teams have gotten "jobbed" by the refs in Pasedena.

Finally, will someone give me a logical explanation why any bowl would put OSU and Notre Dame in the same bowl? Makes no sense to me at all, but I'm willing to listen.

I think because it would have to be one of the highest rated games on t.v. Ever. Those two fan bases/ alumni org., would flood the area with dollars. I would imagine any fans living in the general "bowl" area would even show up without tickets.

On ward to the Orange!

I would love to see the us go on the the Orange bowl becuase I think we will draw a better team in that game tahn if we went to the Fiesta bowl. I think no matter which bowl we go to we will get a good team and we will defeat that team.

IMHO, we will get a better team in the fiesta. The orange will most likely be the big least winner. at least, i think thats how it goes.

I like that idea. My idea was that the bowl games should be played in the home stadium of whichever team won the year before. So since OSU won the Alamo Bowl, the Alamo Bowl gets played in Columbus this year. I know that's odd to have the "Alamo Bowl" in Columbus, and the "Motor City Bowl" would be played where? Bowling Green, maybe? Rose Bowl in Texas. And how many people from the Columbus area would go sit in 10-degree weather to see Michigan State play Nebraska? But it would get more bowl games to northern cities.

Why wouldn't they put OSU and ND in the same bowl?

That's my take on the issue.

IMO The only way we would be paired with ND would be if the two teams finished the season ranked 1,2. Otherwise, you'd make more money by spreading the two money draws out.

I don't think ND would want to play us either. If they finish out with just two losses they'll be ranked higher than any other Mid-West team. Playing us would risk that and doesn't appeal to their "national" schedule concept.

They'll get to pick who they want to play... probably in the Orage Bowl vs the winner of the ACC playoff game.

A little off thread topic, but what do you think would be the biggest revenue game ever (doesn't have to be realistic)

I.E. tOSU vs ND in the Rose Bowl, Texas vs USC in the Rose Bowl, etc.

This year? Texas - USC, undefeated, and playing for all the marbles. Any year? USC - ND is probably the highest ranked game year in, year out. OSU - Michigan probably a close second.

The problem with college football is that it lacks appeal outside of any particular school's fan base. ESPN has made a living off of it by being able to pitch so many regional games on any given day or throw up any two teams to provide background noise on Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri in sports bars.

So why do I dislike ND? (and the Cowboys and the Yankees) Among many things it's 'cause thier subway alums make them a draw across the nation. The only college team that can do that. I would guess that their income from trademark products (shirts, hats, stuffed toys, dildos) probably doubles that of OSU's.
