When OSU goes 9-2 (or better) next year with an improved o-line and an arsenal of talented young backs that will be here for 2-3 years (Haw, Pittman, Wells, Stewart?) no one will complain about Tressel ball. But Bollman has to go, and I think Tressel might make that call if he is already letting the other coach work with the line to some extent. He's smarter than any of us in terms of coaching. Or, what if Bollman does contribute some good things other coaches do not, but the other coach (I can't remember who this board said had "taken over") can fill in Bollman's holes to make a good complement? Maybe that's the best option. It's kinda hard for us to conjecture the best strategy based on rumors, quotes and limited understanding of the dynamics of the coaches and their abilities.

Fake Reverse, throw back to #4 or #10 (homage to my pig-loving homeboy - JC)
From reading some stuff at BN and here, is it far-fetched to think Shazor will be gunning for TGII? Did he say something to the effect that he was going to? I keep reading "Well, when Shazor takes Guinn's head off ... "
(intentional spelling mistake)

I agree to a point. The issue for me isn't just the offensive line, but its also the QBs and WRs too. We can all watch a game and say this or that, but the fact is without knowing what the play was, whether Justin or Troy audibled into something else, whether the WRs ran the correct routes, etc etc ... its all moot. From what I saw against Purdue, the O-Line looked much improved but Troy was holding onto the ball waaaay too long. Without the benefit of an all-22 camera, I can't say if the WRs are covered, if Troy has happy-feet, or if he's simply blind and can't see a play develop.
The inexperience kills us. The turnovers kill us. The holding penalties and false starts that result in 1st-and-long and 2nd-and-long are killing us. Obviously the Tressel offense works, because we had success in 2002 and 2003 - we've hung 50 points on a bad team, 30+ on good teams, and watched 450/500 yard games.
If I were Tressel, I wouldn't "open up" the playbook until the kids figure out how to run at least 10 plays correctly. Heck, even our best play, the WR-reverse to Ginn is 50/50 since Holmes leads the team in holding penalties. How many rushing yards has Ginn had wiped out on Holmes' holding on the reverse? 100? 200? A run of what, 77? Another that was 50+?

I'm thinking Ginn to Gonzalez. The old 7-11 combo in honor of Tibor.
